Anna is 2005 marathon canoeing world and European champion. Anna reconfirmed her status at the top of the canoeing world by winning the ICF Marathon World Championships in Perth, Australia on 26 th October. John is a highly successful business owner. He started as an analytical chemist who worked in the agricultural and pharmaceutical industries with particular interests in chromatographic techniques. He then embarked on a career in the marketing of analytical instruments and systems with a spell of 12 years with Hewlett Packard and a further 4 years with Kontron. In 1984 John joined Beckman Instruments as European manager for their laboratory automation product line which included Lab Manager, one of the leading management systems of its time. John served in this ca pacity until 1990 followed by a further 3 years in a consultancy role. John then concentrated on building his own business, Autoscribe, by initially marketing Matrix developed by Harley Systems in the UK alongside other software packages for Laboratory applications. Subsequently Autoscribe purchased the rights to Matrix, added support and development activities to its operation and introduced a much more advanced version of the system in 1996. Since then John has served as Managing Director of Autoscribe with a particular interest in the sales and marketing activities. Under John’s leadership, Autoscribe has become a global business with distribution throughout Europe and USA. Autoscribe continues to grow and more products are being developed for both the laboratory market and the wider market with products such as Training Manager. To date John has been directly involved in approximately 2000 business projects; he has lectured extensively on management systems and has provided consultancy advice to a number of major com panies.
